About the VPR
Partnerships open new doors to research
Apply what you’ve learned in the classroom and lab to the real world even before you graduate—take advantage of the university’s partnerships with state and federal agencies like the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
These partnerships give you direct access to jobs working alongside professional natural resource managers and allow you to participate in and attend important conferences.
- The university has a long-standing relationship with the Museum of Northern Arizona, an art and natural history museum established in 1928. The Museum is an important partner for research experience, jobs, and training for undergraduates interested in anthropology, geology,
paleontology, and biology. - Collaborative programs with nationally and internationally renowned agencies and institutions such as NASA, Sandia National Labs, Jet Propulsion Lab, National Renewable Energy Lab, The Nature Conservancy and more offer abundant opportunities for internships, research projects, and jobs.
- Native American anthropology students have the opportunity for hands-on field and laboratory experience, mentoring, and part-time jobs through a partnership with the Navajo Nation Archaeology Division. Many of
these students advance to graduate school and successful professional careers.
