Policy on Conducting Research at the University Union

The University Union has implemented the following policy for students, faculty, and researchers wishing to conduct research, for example, collecting survey data.

Researchers wishing to collect data from people in or around the University Union should keep in mind that:
- surveys are limited to class projects for students to learn how to manipulate data;
- surveys are permitted in the indoor and outdoor vendor locations only of the University Union;
- vendor locations must be scheduled with the University Union events coordinator Patti Redman 523-1523 or Room 11 in the University Union;
- vendor rules and regulations must be followed, see http://home.nau.edu/union/vending.asp ;
- student must provide copies of assignment, class title, professor's name and a copy of the survey for review.

NOTE:  The University Union reserves the right to deny surveys that might be deemed inappropriate.  In most cases, surveys must go through the NAU Institutional Review Board for content approval.
