Eligibility
Eligible students are the most exceptional applicants to the PhD programs in Biological Sciences or School of Forestry at Northern Arizona University. Applicants of distinction have qualities such as high GRE scores, a track record of publications and presentations, hands-on field experience, previous awards, honors, and scholarships, and a demonstrated commitment to pursue a terminal degree. A Master’s degree is required for admission to the PhD program in Forestry.
How to Apply
Complete applications should be received by January 15 for admission consideration for the Fall semester. Qualified students should first identify and contact potential mentor(s) to sponsor their application in either Biological Sciences or Forestry (link below). They should then apply for admission to the PhD program of that department through the Graduate College website (link below). Necessary documents for a complete application include official copies of recent GRE scores, official transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended, a statement of purpose, and recommendations from three previous professors and mentors.
